Decisions, Decisions…
How do you make yours?
Is there a decision you’ve been carrying quietly for a while?
Recently, I found myself facing a decision that was both complicated and heartfelt. It reminded me just how much we take for granted our ability to make decisions, day in, day out. So today, I’m inviting you to pause with me. Let’s reflect together: How do you make yours?
Some decisions are simple—like what to wear, what to eat, or which playlist to choose for the drive home. Others are more structured—what time to head to bed, whether to call a friend, take that new route to work, or sign up for that class you’ve been eyeing.
And then… there are the ones that sit heavy on our hearts.
The ones that carry the weight of ethical, emotional, practical, financial, or relational consequences. The ones where the right answer isn’t obvious. The ones that affect not just you, but someone else.
What makes a decision ‘good’?
Do the ends justify the means—or is it the other way around?
What will happen if you don’t make this decision—yet?
And what ripple effects might you not even see coming?
We often rely on unconscious formulas—our instincts, our values, the influence of culture, upbringing, peers, and profession. But how many of our decisions are made intentionally—with presence of mind, structure, and clarity?
Can you look back at your decision, not with regret, but with compassion—knowing you did the best you could, with the knowledge and resources you had at the time?
This is where coaching can offer support—not by giving you the answer, but by helping you find a calm, clear space in which to hear yourself think and feel.
The 4 R’s of Decision-Making
Reignite – Reconnect with what really matters to you. What has changed? What’s calling for your attention? Reignite your sense of purpose and alignment.
Reframe – Explore the situation through a wider lens. What’s the impact of staying as you are? What’s the cost of change—and the cost of not changing?
Redefine – Clarify your emerging identity and values. What decision supports who you are becoming?
Restore – Move forward with clarity and self-trust, knowing you’ve made a thoughtful, values-aligned choice.
If you’re sitting with a decision—personal or professional—this is your invitation to pause, reflect, and realign.
